Job Description

Receptionist / PBX Operator  - The Receptionist / PBX Operator greets visitors and monitors incoming and outgoing telecommunications activities.  Is responsible to remain knowledgeable of emergency response system and have ability to react instantaneously to all emergencies.  Will act as a dispatcher for Safety/Security, Code alerts, and Facilities Services.  Will answer complaint calls after hours, classify the nature of the complaint, make initial judgment regarding priority status and will assure that sufficient information is obtained to support a prompt resolution. Will provide clerical assistance and may work on various hospital projects as necessary.  Will assist in the registration process as needed.   

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, and GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

·         High school diploma or equivalent.

·         Experience in a hospital setting with multi-line switchboard. 

·         Problem identification and problem solving skills.

·         Detail oriented and data entry accuracy.

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

·         Knowledge of professional telephone protocol.

·         Professional verbal and written communication skills.

·         Ability to work with minimal supervision.

·         Demonstrated respect for confidentiality. 

·         Utilizes time management and prioritization skills.

Full-time/40 hours, 5:30am – 2:30pm
